PRIVACY POLICY

EFFECTIVE DATE: July 17, 2021

This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) applies to information received and data collected by PeerLogix, Inc. and any other subsidiary or affiliate wholly-owned or otherwise controlled by PeerLogix, Inc. (collectively, “PeerLogix ”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any material changes to this Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here and by changing the “Effective Date” at the top. You should periodically read this Privacy Policy to learn of any revisions.

You agree that you have reviewed and understood our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy to your full satisfaction, that you accept and are subject to our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, and that we are permitted to use your identifiable information as set forth below.

PeerLogix is committed to respecting your privacy.

General Questions

What information do we collect?

We receive certain information about you, your household, and your devices from third-party data partners who provide us this information in order to help us build and deliver marketing segments for our customers. The information we collect and receive on our platform does not directly identify you, but it may be considered "personal data" or "personal information" under applicable privacy or data protection laws (collectively, "Personal Information"). We collect additional data, including Personal Data, through our monitoring of traffic that uses peer-to-peer networking protocols. This data may include IP addresses, peer-to-peer streaming and sharing activity, and other information that is shared over peer-to-peer networks. The Personal Information that we collect and receive includes the following categories of information:

  • Identifiers, including IP addresses, cookie identifiers, device identifiers, other identifiers from similar tracking technologies, and unique identifiers that PeerLogix assigns to segments.

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information, including information about your visits to and use of our customers’ digital properties, the content you view, and other information about how you interact with internet websites, applications, and advertisements.

  • Inferences, including inferences about your interests and media preferences.

We do not collect demographic information (i.e., gender, age, marital status, education level, etc.).

How do we use the information we collect?

PeerLogix’s technology works by using IP addresses and other information we collect to link together devices that we think may be used by the same person or household. This allows affiliated and unaffiliated third parties to measure analytics and show ads that are more relevant to your interests across your devices and to better understand how consumers interact with their ads. We also use the Personal Information that we receive and collect for a number of business and commercial purposes, including:

  • To provide advertising, marketing, segmentation, and analytics products and services to our customers and their service-providers, for example to help our customers deliver more relevant advertising and content across digital channels, and to help them measure the impact and effectiveness of their advertising campaigns.

  • To analyze and report on ad campaign performance, and to audit and verify transactions, including counting and verifying ad impressions, and measuring their quality and effectiveness.

  • To provide and improve our products and services, and to develop new products and services, including through internal research and technological development.

  • To conduct market and industry research.

  • To maintain the quality, safety, and security of our services.

  • To investigate and deter fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.

  • To market and promote our products and services.

Before sharing this information, at times the personal information will be probabilistically associated with an identified individual. While it may be possible to correlate this information to particular individuals, we do not generally do so, though we reserve the right to do so. In particular, when sharing this data with software publishers, we will typically only provide the target market segment associated with an IP address and user identification number provided by the software publisher.

Data our clients collect through the PeerLogix Data Management Platform (“DMP”)

Our technology platform, the PeerLogix DMP, enables our clients to deliver more relevant advertising and content to consumers across digital channels, including desktop, mobile, and connected TV channels, by gathering data about your visits to, and use of, their digital properties. PeerLogix DMP is licensed to our customers (i.e., website publishers and marketers) for their own purposes. These customers have their own policies that govern how they collect, use, and share data, which may differ from PeerLogix’s own data collection, usage, and sharing policies. Please consult the privacy policies of the websites you visit and apps you use to become familiar with their privacy practices.

What do you mean by Cookies?

Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are used to hold data specific to an individual client and website. We may use cookies. We may use them to study visitors’ use of the Website and to improve your navigation of it and for such other purposes as we determine, including sharing information derived from cookies unaffiliated with third parties and business partners. The majority of Web browsers accept cookies, but the “help” menu on your browser should give you options for preventing, accepting, or receiving notice of new cookies. You can configure your web-browser to disable cookies, but doing so may impair your use of the Website.

PeerLogix uses cookie syncing, the process of mapping user IDs from one system to another, to enable advertisers to use data on multiple advertising platforms. It also allows PeerLogix to assist our partners in relating our cookie-less audience segments back to site visitors for use in ad targeting.

Opt Out

You can opt out of interest-based advertising.

You can click below to opt out of having PeerLogix data used to select ads for your browser and/or non browser-enabled software clients based on your online web browsing behavior or peer-to-peer streaming activity. When you opt out, an opt out cookie (from peerlogix.com) will be stored in your web browser, and your IP address will also be stored by PeerLogix. PeerLogix will know the choice you have made when it sees your IP address, and will apply your choice to all companies’ use of PeerLogix audience segments.

We take our commitment to privacy seriously. If you prefer to opt out of receiving marketing messages, you may choose to opt out of digital advertising through the NAI’s Consumer Opt-Out Program or DAA’s Consumer ChoicePage. By clicking on the “Opt-Out” links below, you will be directed to the respective opt out website where your computer will be scanned to determine who maintains cookies on you. At that time, you can either choose to opt out of all targeted advertising or you can choose to opt out of targeted advertising by selecting individual companies who maintain a cookie on your machine.

The opt out cookie cannot be set if your browser is configured to block third-party cookies. If you delete your cookies, you will need to opt out again. There are browser plugins that may help you preserve your opt out cookies. The opt out only applies to the browser in which you set it. For example, if you set the opt out while using Safari, but then use Chrome, the opt out will not be active in Chrome. To opt out in Chrome, you will need to repeat the opt out process. For IP-based opt out with respect to non browser-enabled software clients, PeerLogix will not recognize your opt out in the event your IP address changes or you utilize that software client from a different location.

The opt out does not block or delete cookies, or prevent the use of cookies or other technologies for purposes other than selecting ads based on your interests as inferred by your online behavior. If you opt out, data may still be collected about your web browsing and peer-to-peer file sharing activities and you will still see advertising. Ads may be selected, for example, based on the content of the web page in which they are shown. If you wish to block or delete cookies altogether, you can use web browser settings to do so.

Data is stored and retained in non-aggregated form for up to 18 months from the date of collection. Aggregated data is used for reporting and analysis, and may be stored for up to 2 additional years.
